I am a qualified Nurse and I have worked in a variety of challenging but rewarding roles since graduating in 2009. These include Police Custody, Prisons and more relaxing roles such as School Nursing and working with people with disabilities...so very little phases me!! I grew up surrounded by animals ranging from hamsters to dogs and I also had my own horse for seven years.
Having spent the last six years in Nursing I decided to transfer my caring skills to working with animals which is where my real passion lies. I currently have two greyhounds called Ivy and Stilts who I rescued four years ago and they now have a wonderful life and daily walks in the country. They are both extremely placid, as greyhounds tend to be and get along with all other dogs.
In my spare time I enjoy helping out at the local greyhound rescue rehoming kennel. I take the dogs out for walks, raise money and attend fayres. Alongside my pet sitting and walking duties I hand make funky dog collars, harnesses, leads and cat collars, so I spend a lot of time working with people and their pets and know how precious people's pets are to them.
The reason I started with GB Pet Sitters is because I adore all animals but also because I had a wonderful dog walker from GB Pet Sitters for Ivy and Stilts when I lived in Bristol. The service was excellent and we are still friends to this day, even after moving away from the area. My partner Karl also helps out sometimes, mostly with boarding when we have lovely dogs come and have a holiday with us...we can guarantee they will have a wonderful time!
